RACE- Patos Island -Sidney

The Patos Island Classic Race hosted by SNSYC, Sidney, BC is the  first  race  of the 2018 Vancouver Island Coastal Crown that includes the Thetis Island (11,12) Round Saltspring (Ganges, May 18,19,20) and Swiftsure Classic  (Victoria, May 25 to 27th) Yacht Races. VSC will be competing in all 4 races this year.

You must be in Sidney on the race boat Friday evening and be prepared to race overnight on Saturday for the latest Finish at 11am Sunday morning.

A 4-hour ON, 4-hour OFF Watch System will be in effect for night sailing.

Participants that are not enrolled in VSC504 Competent Keelboat Racing Crew course are encouraged to do a 5 day Mileage Builder Cruise  from Vancouver to Sidney April 8-12th. An additional Mileage Builder March 16-20th will prepare crew for  Around Thetis and/or Round Saltspring Island- please review our CALENDAR for additional details.

The Racing Fee is $ 275 for Crew and includes:

  1. Raciing aboard ClaraALLEGRO, Beneteau First 36.7 for two days
  2. 3 nights berth with meals aboard included
  3. 2 days and one night Log Book credit
  4. Use of Type 3 PFD, tether, flash light
  5. Share of LONG COURSE registration fees
  6. Friday night Buffet Dinner at the Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club 

Prerequisites:  VSC504 Competent Keelboat Racing course graduate or current enrolment.  Qualified racing crew by invitation only.
