The Skipper Small Keelboat course is for those wishing to successfully master the skills needed to sail a boat in the 18 to 25 ft range. The course covers everything from the outboard engine and maneuvering skills to sail trim and understanding how to be a true leader on a small keelboat. It is divided into two parts:

1) Sailing knowledge- the self-paced NauticEd  Skipper Small Keelboat eCourse

2) On-the-water practical- Vancouver Sailing Club (VSC)  on-the-water 3-Day Instruction & Verification 

More about this Skipper Small Keelboat Sailing Course:

  • Sailing Knowledge module is available immediately- self-paced Course takes approximately 15-20 hours of total time to complete
  • Extensive and essential knowledge for sailing at the beginner / intermediate levels.
  •  Take as long as you need to complete- return as many times as you like to review
  • You may take the tests anytime and as many times as you like online via browser
    or offline via our iPad/iPhone testing app. See our sailing apps page.
  • Adds the Skipper Small Keelboat Course endorsement to your NauticEd Sailing Resume and LOG Book included in the course

VSC102 Skipper Small Keelboat Course Fees  

  • Registration $675 per person, $1275 couples, $625 per person for Private Groups of 4 go to our CALENDAR and find your date and register as an individual, couple our  group
  • Option 1- Transport Canada/CPS VHF Radio Opertator Course Marine (ROCM) - $195+GST
  • Option 2- Pleasure Craft Operators Card PCOC eCourse and License Card - $85 + GST
